Life used to be so certain for Andrew, an English programmer living alone in Bulgaria. Suddenly with a ring of the door bell, he finds that he is the next evolution of humanity and needs to save the world before a deranged creature slows down time into a single dull moment.
In Nick Farrell's first novel Tree Falls describes a universe in which every moment is watched by semi-angelic beings to make sure that everything changes. It follows the story of Andrew who finds himself on a quest through time and space to God, whose true name is Jeff, with his Holy Guardian Angel, Tigger who is also the patron angel of computers and other things that are designed to blow up.
The journey takes him to hell, which is a disco in Loughborough, and a meeting with the Triple Goddess, where he accidentally eats one of her sausages and drinks her beer and . He finds out the secret of Avebury and Jeff's reason for creating the universe.
